Terms of Use

Last updated: October 9, 2026

These terms apply to the Insect Identifier iPhone app (the "App") and this website (the "Site"), operated by RLAM FZCO ("we", "us"). By using the App or Site, you agree to them. For the App, these terms supplement Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; if they conflict, Apple's agreement applies.

Identifications are a guide, not advice

Identifications and information in the App and on the Site are generated with the help of artificial intelligence and can be wrong. Don't rely on them for medical, safety, pest-control or legal decisions. Don't handle an insect, spider or other animal because the App says it is harmless. If you've been bitten or stung and feel unwell, contact a doctor or emergency services.

Subscription

  • Using the App requires an Insect Identifier Pro subscription. Prices and billing periods are shown in the App before you buy.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. If a free trial is offered, you're charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the App or Site: no attempts to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, to access it by automated means beyond normal use, or to upload content that is unlawful or that you don't have the right to use.

Content and licenses

The App, the Site and their design and text belong to us. Species photos on the Site come from iNaturalist contributors under Creative Commons licenses; each photo is credited and links to its source. You keep all rights to the photos you scan.

Availability

We work to keep the service running but don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the App and Site are provided "as is", and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss resulting from reliance on an identification. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Changes

We may update these terms and will revise the date at the top. Continuing to use the App or Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
